London Team News: Important DBS changes

Posted on

New Directions Education London would like to remind our candidates and clients that in December, the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) merged to form the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).  This new organisation provides a joined up service to combine the criminal records and barring functions, with further legislative changes to follow later in 2013/2014.

In line with this change, as of Friday 1st February, it is essential that any new applications for a CRB/DBS check are made using the new DBS form.

At New Directions, changes have already been implemented in terms of language, terminology, and paperwork. We would like to reassure our clients and candidates that we will continue to maintain our high quality compliance procedures during this period of change.

As an umbrella company, we are also able to process DBS applications for other companies who require their staff to be vetted. If you currently use this service, please inform us and we will provide you with the new DBS application forms for use. Please note that all CRB application forms need to be used by February 2013. If you would like more information on this service we provide, please contact Leah Seltzer at [email protected].”
