Widnes Vikings Rugby Tournament with local schools

The Vikings Sports Foundation is the affiliated charity of Widnes Vikings Rugby League Club which aims to engage, educate and inspire the community to bring about positive change and new opportunities through rugby league. After last year’s successful event, Widnes Vikings are hosting a rugby tournament, sponsored by New Directions Education for all West and East Widnes Schools.

Each tournament will be held at the Select Stadium prior to the first teams First Utility Super League game. The teams are then invited to stay to watch the game.

The first event for all the West Widnes Schools will be held on Friday 22nd April and the second event for all the east Widnes Schools will be held on Friday 29th April. The finals will be played in June and the winners will be presented with a trophy during half time of the Widnes Vikings and Warrington Wolves game by New Directions Recruitment Consultant, Lauran Collins.

Sam Pilling, Branch Manager for our Wirral office comments, “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Widnes Vikings. It is exciting to be working closely with them and making a difference within the community and promoting the Vikings Sports Foundation.”
