Recruitment Group Launches Robust Criminal Records Checking Service

Leading recruitment and training provider, New Directions, has introduced a new corporate brand and logo – onlinedbs.co.uk; created specifically for their tailored disclosure service that has provided organisations with criminal record checks for over 10 years.

The rebrand reflects the growth of the group and the growing changes in legislation across the UK. The business has created a bespoke online system which has been developed in-house is managed by their internal product development team.

The team say that the new system delivers a complete start-to-finish process for applications which ensures they stay in complete control with any future changes or enhancements relating to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) application procedures.

Kate Williams, DBS Advisor for onlinedbs.co.uk comments ‘realising the need and demand for an integrated online DBS system and being able to evolve and develop the idea into a finished product has been such a great experience.

We wanted to create a system based on ease of use and accessibility for all users. From using similar systems before, we were able to have clear views on what we liked and what we felt we could improve on to ensure that we had a product that would serve and exceed the needs of our business and bring us sprinting into the 21st century’.

New Directions has been an umbrella organisation for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) since 2002. onlinedbs.co.uk has been given approval by both the Disclosure and Barring Service and the Ministry of Justice as a rigorous and safe system for employers and organisations to use to obtain appropriate criminal record checks.

Kate continues ‘We soon realised that the service we had would be just as advantageous to an external market as it was to ourselves. We saw such a great increase in the speed and fluidity of our recruitment processes and knew that many more organisations from across all sectors would benefit from this also. I am really looking forward to seeing our system capabilities grow to ensure we are going above and beyond the needs of our external clients as well as our own’.

With the launch of the online service comes a new independent branding from the business. Leah Seltzer, Head of Compliance for the group who helped lead the project says ‘the brand is a step away from our traditional themes. Although the group’s core functionality is recruitment and training – we wanted to distinguish this service as a stand-alone service. We hope that the look and feel of the brand appeals to all business community sectors’.
