Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen with ND Care & Support. We are looking for dedicated Care Workers to assist within the home care sector across Cardiff and Newport. The role of Care Worker is highly rewarding, allowing you to make a real difference in your local community.

Duties of a Care Worker may include:

  • Supporting individuals with their daily activities – this could be within the service user’s home or within the wider community
  • Supporting the maintenance of independence
  • Assisting and promoting independence within the areas of personal care, nutrition, social, and emotional wellbeing (including all daily activities)
  • Promoting and enabling individuals to live comfortably, safely and happily within their home
  • Enabling/supporting access to and participation within the local community
  • Enabling individuals to undertake hobbies, attend day services, enjoy daytime activities and outings
  • Daytime hours, evenings and weekends, waking or sleep-in duties
  • Encouraging a sense of independence for the service users
  • Completion of daily reports as required to meet standards
  • Liaison with external agencies and family members

To be considered for the role you must:

  • Be able to support service users’ wellbeing throughout their daily lives
  • Be passionate about ensuring that the individual is at the centre of support delivery
  • Have time to spare
  • Have a full driving license and access to own car
  • Be committed to supporting others
  • Be a motivated individual
  • Be able to lone work and utilise initiative
  • Show flexibility, reliability and an organised approach to ensure consistency for our service users
  • Demonstrate good communication skills
