What type of service does ND Care & Support provide?

We provide home and community based services to both adults and children. Our services are tailored to meet your needs so if you need an hour a week or you need a live in carer we can help. Our services include help with daily living; personal care, respite care and social support. Care can be long-term or just a temporary arrangement. How much will it cost?

The cost of care services vary depending on which service you receive. There is also funding available to some people who have been assessed by a professional as needing care. Whether you are a private customer or have funding towards you care please feel free to call the office closest to your home.

What training do your staff undertake?

The care staff we employ will have received all of the training needed to carry out their duties to a high standard. As a minimum, our staff receive training in Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Manual Handling, Protection of Vulnerable Adults and Children. We also ensure that staff have specialist training in areas such as Dementia training, Epilepsy and Medication training where there is an identified need.

Where do you recruit from?

We pride ourselves on recruiting from our local communities. We endeavour to recruit people with previous experience however all staff undertake a thorough training and development programme. We believe that individuals with the right values and attitude are the most important qualities when recruiting staff.

Are ND Care and Support staff police checked?

Yes, all of our staff are fully vetted and go through the Disclosure and Barring Service (formally known as a CRB) before being allowed to work with us. We take the safety of vulnerable people very seriously and we have a very robust recruitment procedure which prospective staff must pass before being able to work with us. Our commitment to our customers is paramount. All staff receive on-going training supervision to ensure best practice is maintained.

How long does care last for?

ND Care and Support are able to provide throughout the year and the duration of service will depend upon your requirements. Many of our customers have been receiving care through us for a number of years. We are of course happy to provide the same standard of care for just a few days if that is all that is needed.

What do ND and Care and Support carers do?

Our carers are there to help with your needs whatever they may be. You may like someone to help you with shopping and keeping your home tidy, to more specialised care such as bathing and help with medication. Before any service is arranged, our dedicated coordinator will spend time with you to plan your service with you and ensure we have the most suitable carer to meet your needs.

What do I do if things go wrong?

ND Care and Support operates a 24 hour service giving you access to help whenever you need it. Our out of hour’s service is staffed by your local coordinators who are trained and knowledgeable individuals who will be able to help you. ND Care and Support will also provide you with our complaints procedure which will be given to you at the start of your care. The complaints procedure is simple to use and is a confidential process. ND Care and Support continually monitors the work of all our carers. We will keep in regular contact with you to make sure you are satisfied with your service.
