On-Site Services Manager (Production Manager)

Location: Multiple Sites between Oxford & Norwich (5 total) Commutable from West Midlands, East Midlands, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, South East England, East England

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum Company Van, Fuel Card, Mobile Phone, Laptop.

NEW DIRECTIONS is seeking an experienced Production Manager for one of the Uk’s leading timber pallet and packaging solutions businesses that delivers a wide range of goods and services to industrial, public, and manufacturing markets.

The successful candidate will lead the on-site services function of our client’s customers’ sites within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards. Full accountability for 15 members of staff, ensuring safety, customer quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met.

You will also be responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible team by building working relationships and ensuring that Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are adhered to. Manage the team on best practices and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading teams. Implementing and managing continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices, processes, and continuous improvement.

Skills/ Certifications required for On-Site Services Manager (Production Manager):

  • Extensive manufacturing plant-level experience with significant proven supervisory experience
  • Experience of managing operations across multiple sites.
  • Good understanding of continuous improvement techniques e.g. LEAN.
  • Experience of managing Profit & Loss responsibilities for manufacturing.
  • Understanding of IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO 14001
  • Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
  • Competent in analysis, assessment, measurement
  • Perseverance, personal ambition, and willingness to develop within a dynamic environment.
  • Proven track record of driving productivity improvements through KPI’s
  • Commercial and Financial acumen.
  • Competent in analysis, assessment, and measurement.
