Safeguarding Executive

Compliance department

Location- Hensol, Vale of Glamorgan

full time position, 6 month contract

£30k

Purpose of Role:

To support the high level administrative, case management and engagement functions of the Clients Safeguarding Team. The Safeguarding Team is responsible for safeguarding all children and adults at risk.

Safeguarding

· Undertake Safeguarding risk assessments.

· Administer Safeguarding information on the clients COMET System.

· Operate online DBS applications.

· Provide secretarial support to the clients Safeguarding Panel.

· Present cases to the clients Safeguarding Panel.

· Develop, implement, and promote Safeguarding Policies, Practices and Procedures.

· Develop content for, and update Safeguarding website and communications.

· Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on Safeguarding matters, concerns, and referrals.

· Represent the client at Professional Strategy Meetings.

· Undertake investigations and case management procedures.

· Support, and engage with, Club, League, and Area Safeguarding Officers.

· Develop safeguarding education and awareness raising campaigns.

· Ensure DBS Certificates with content are submitted for risk assessment and issue non-compliance suspensions as necessary.

· Assist with the development and updating of rules and regulations

· Assist and advise key staff and volunteers with regards to the Club Accreditation Programme.

Mental Health & Wellbeing

· Support with the implementation & delivery of the clients Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategy.

Other

· Significant data entry of confidential and sensitive information.

· To undertake any other duties as instructed by Head of Department.

Qualifications

· Educated to Degree level or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.

· Mental Health First Aid qualification (advantageous)

Knowledge/Experience

· Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

· Knowledge of DBS processes & relevant legislation.

· Knowledge of the clients Rules & Regulations (advantageous)

· Experience in administrative processing and procedure development.

· Experience of Microsoft applications, for example Word, Excel and Outlook are essential.

· Experience of data entry and databases.

· Experience of Safeguarding case management (advantageous)

· The ability to speak Welsh would be advantageous.

· The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and two professional / personal references, to the satisfaction of the client. In addition, the client will ask to see evidence of right to work in the UK.
