Job Description

Manage the shift and all direct staff to ensure the smooth running of the production process. Ensure all products are produced to the specified specifications and all target and deadlines are met to achieve the orders. Ensure that all direct staff comply with the Company’s Health and Safety procedures

  • Ensure all team members conduct themselves in a safe manner which does not put themselves or any of their colleagues at risk.
  • To ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift

Ensure safe working practices are maintained and ‘Standard Operations Procedures’ (SOP) are adhered to

  • To take full responsibility of the shift in terms of management of staff, management of production and quality targets and to ensure the smooth running of the production processes

Problem solving and troubling shooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand

  • Responsibility for the quality, standard and volume of pallets produced during shift in line with the companies quality systems, processes and procedures
  • Ensure all products delivered to the customer on time and are fit for purpose and meet the customer specifications

Drive a customer focused team

  • Be able to make appropriate decisions while following the company’s organisational structure and also ensure any decisions which require to be escalated are done so in a timely manner.
  • Ensure you are wearing the issued uniform at all times during working hours.
  • Ensure all employees are responsible for ensuring company resources are used in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs
  • Endeavour to meet the agreed production plan and targets then collate and provide comment against performance metrics
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with team members and other Shift Leads to clearly communicate tasks, production handovers and any issues
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with management team to ensure optimal performance
  • Ensure you behave in accordance with our Company Values.
  • Manage, develop and motivate direct reporting staff
  • Ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff
  • Ensure good lines of communication are maintained between other shift leaders and also with management.
  • Review team and individual performance
  • Monitor and maintain company Absence Procedures to ensure maximum attendance levels
  • Ensure that team follows company policies and safety standards
  • To ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance production quality and capacity
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on manufacturing activities
  • Demonstrates a high level of Health and Safety awareness
  • Has excellent attention to detail and drive to constantly maintain high standards throughout team.
