Notre Dame Catholic High School Student Experiences New Directions

Posted on

Ieva Navickaite a year 10 student at Notre Dame Catholic High School joined our New Directions Liverpool team to carry out a work experience placement during 9th – 13th July.

Lisa Harper, Branch Manager says “It was a joy and pleasure to have Ieva working with us in the office, a perfect chance to help support and develop a young individual with fresh ideas”

Ieva would like to pursue  a career in business and so she opted for an office environment when deciding where to do her work experience. The Liverpool team were able to support Ieva in mapping out her future and building a foundation for what could potentially shape her future. To get the most out of her placement the team identified areas with Ieva that she wanted to understand the most, which included carrying out tasks such as calculating figures, organising files, market research on the internet and  sending e-shots. Ieva got involved as much as she could making her an exemplary student. Her attendance, attitude and participation during the week were fantastic.

Ieva really enjoyed her time with us and offered the following comments: “I had fab time with New directions team. I will miss you all. Thank you for everything – Kevin, Lisa, Tracy, Jennifer and Sarah”

The Liverpool team found it very refreshing to hear Ieva’s take on how supply teachers are received within her school, and also what Ieva’s view point is on what makes a good supply teacher. The information Ieva shared with us will contribute greatly as we move forward supplying staff across schools in the Merseyside area.
