Agency Donates Christmas Gifts

Leading Welsh recruitment and training agency – New Directions Education found a novel way to wish a Merry Christmas this festive season.

The primary team in the Cardiff head office asked their key clients to cast a vote. Instead of dropping off Christmas gifts to them, they asked them to donate the sum of a gift to a charity. The team selected two charities – Barnardo’s and Beat Bullying and asked Welsh educators to vote.

Speaking about the creative festive idea, Kelly Storer, Branch Manager for the team said ‘Agencies often come armed at Christmas with chocolates and other gifts for their clients. We decided to give something back. After becoming the preferred supplier to Wales earlier in the year we wanted to reflect the reasons we were chosen. The education sector has been tasked with spending smarter in tougher times; we chose to honour that ethos.’

The team donated over £200 to the chosen charities. Throughout the year New Directions have selected charities to raise funds for. Through a series of events and fund raisers the business has pledged to support key charities associated with the education sector.

New Directions also ran a Christmas card design competition. The winning design was chosen as the image for their 2012 corporate card. Lucy Roberts of Parc Primary School in RCT was selected as the winner. The school also received an IPad as a prize for winning the competition.
