Mae Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Bodringallt yn Rhondda Cynon Taf wedi bod yn cymryd rhan yng Ngŵyl Ysgolion y Rhondda Ganol ers sawl blwyddyn. Mae gan y tîm Rygbi hanes o lwyddiant – gan ddal y record am ennill y gystadleuaeth wyth o weithiau. Roedd plant YGG Bondringallt yn mwynhau cymryd rhan yn y twrnamaint; ond roedden nhw’n teimlo nad oedd eu dillad rygbi yn gwneud cyfiawnder â nhw.

Pan glywodd New Directions Education, sydd wedi gweithio’n agos â’r ysgol, am helynt y plant, eu hymateb oedd rhoi addewid i brynu dillad rygbi newydd sbon. Aeth Dafydd Henry, Rheolwr Cyfrif yn New Directions Education i’r ysgol i gyflwyno’r dillad newydd i’r ysgol.

Dywedodd Dafydd, “Pan glywais i fod yr ysgol yn ceisio codi arian i brynu dillad rygbi newydd, roedd ein tîm ni’n teimlo rheidrwydd i wneud rhywbeth. I ni fel cwmni, mae’r gymuned yn un o’n gwerthoedd craidd. Mae hyn yn golygu ein bod ni wedi ymrwymo i gefnogi’n cymunedau lleol. Dwi’n gobeithio y bydd y tîm yn mynd o nerth i nerth gyda’u dillad newydd.”

Ychwanegodd Marc James, Athro blwyddyn 3 yn yr ysgol, “mae dillad y tîm wedi cael llawer o ddefnydd yn ystod y blynyddoedd diwethaf, ac o ganlyniad, maent wedi gwisgo at yr edau. Mae rhieni’r plant hefyd wedi dweud yr hoffent i’r tîm edrych cystal ag y maent yn chwarae. Mae’r ysgol gyfan yn llawn edmygedd o’r dillad newydd ac fe hoffem ddiolch i New Directions Education am eu cefnogaeth a’u haelioni.”

YGG Bodringallt in RCT has been taking part in the Mid Rhondda School Festival for many years .The Rugby team have a good track record – winning the competition for a record eight times. The children at YGG Bodringallt have enjoyed taking part in the tournament; however they felt that their kit let them down.

When New Directions Education, who have worked closely with the school heard of the children’s plight they responded with a pledge to purchase a brand new rugby kit. Dafydd Henry, Account Manager at New Directions Education went to the school to present the school with the new kit.

Dafydd commented when I heard that the school were looking to raise funds for a new kit our team felt compelled to get involved. As a company, community is one of our core values. This means we are committed to supporting our local communities, I hope with the new kit the team goes from strength-to-strength.”

Marc James year 3 Teacher at the school added “the kit has been well used over the past few years, and as a result it was looking worn out. Parents of the pupils have also mentioned a desire to look as good as we play. The whole school is impressed with the new kit and would like to thank New Directions Education for their support and generosity”
