Oldford primary school in Powys held their annual sports day, the sports day was held in the last week of term.

During the week there were lots of competitive races with winners being awarded gold medals.  This year however Oldford Primary welcomed a special visitor to the sports day, none other than Elvis impersonator, Rev Darren Meyer.

Rev Darren Mayer attended the school on board the ‘Impact bus’ which tells school children more about the story of Mary and the Bible. The Reverend also performed for the school children keeping them entertained with his guitar.

Children and staff alike had a great day, enjoying the nice weather, music, and the sports activities, which helped them in meeting the mission statement of the school ‘bringing out the best in each other’.

Melissa Penlington Account Manager at New Directions Education commented ‘the children did absolutely brilliantly in the competitive races and were kept entertained all day by Reverend Meyer and his alter ego Elvis. It is heartening to see schools making sports more enjoyable for all, especially after the Olympics last year. I hope the legacy continues for years to come.’
