Teaching Assistants Honoured for Achievements

A group of 29 Classroom assistants from all over North Wales have been honoured for the excellent work they have performed supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Dyslexia.

The staff were presented with awards at the Nant Mawr Centre in Buckley in a special awards ceremony. Teaching Assistants from Denbighshire, Conwy and Flintshire and from various settings including primary, secondary and specialist schools were honoured in the ceremony which saw the staff receive certificates for passing courses aimed at aiding staff who work in educational settings to support pupils with Dyslexia.

The Teaching Assistants have been successful in attaining the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) and the certificate Accredited Learning Support Assistant (ALSA).

A spokesperson from New Directions Education in Wrexham commented on the achievements ‘What the staff have achieved is absolutely fantastic, and it is typical of Flintshire who have clearly worked hard to become a leading trainer in the field of dyslexia, not just in Wales but in the whole of the UK’.
