Connah’s Quay High Class of 2001 in aid of ‘The Anya Bentham Appeal’

Posted on

Former pupils of Connah’s Quay High School are organising a schools reunion in aid to raise money and awareness for ‘The Anya Appeal’. The event is going to be held at The Corus Club, in Shotton on Saturday 19th October 2013, 7.00pm until late.

Anya is just 2 years old and she has stage 4 neuroblastoma – an aggressive childhood cancer that kills more under fives than any other cancer type. Together with Anya’s parents, Graeme and Naomi, the NCCA UK has been fundraising to help Anya access pioneering immunotherapy treatment in the US.   But now brave Anya who has already undergone painful, protracted treatment has been given a rare opportunity to join a Europe-wide immunotherapy treatment trial – with the bonus that she can receive treatment at her local hospital, Alder Hey. This means she will not now need to travel to the US as planned and could start treatment as early as November 2013

The Class of 2001 is being organised by Kate and Chris Speed who are former pupils of Connah’s Quay High and friends of Anya’s mum Naomi.

The school reunion will give the former pupils of Connah’s Quay High an opportunity to reunite more than 10 years after them leaving school along with raising money for a fantastic course. During the evening there will be a live DJ, photo booth and the opportunity to exchange embarrassing photographs and stories

Tickets are available by contacting Kate or Chris via their face book page or you can also purchase tickets on the night of the event.

There is also an opportunity to donate towards the charity by visiting Anya’s just giving page which is; www.justgiving.com/Kate-Speed1

Please feel free to attend the event and if you are unable to attend, please donate to the just giving page above

We hope to see you all there and friends and family are also invited to the event
