Rocket’s Island CBBC film programme in Ysgol Bro Fammau Llanarmon Yn Lal

Ysgol Bro Famau , Llanarmon Yn Iau in Denbighshire have been hosting the actors and crew of ‘Rocket Island’ a BBC Children’s programme, over the summer months.

Rocket’s Island’s is set on a beautiful secluded island farm, ‘Rocket Boulsworth’ has his own cave where wishes actually come true.

Rebecca Turner Head Teacher at the school commented ‘We are very proud that the school and the village are being used as the setting for the new CBBC series of Rocket’s Island. It was very exciting to watch all the actors and crew at work over the summer and seeing our school turned into ‘Ballabungie High School’.  We will hopefully be able to watch the new series on the television in June 2014’.

Impressionist and actress ‘Deborah Stephenson’  largely known for her role as Frankie Baldwin in Coronation Street is one of the actors who is staring in the three part series.

Rebecca Macintyre, Account Manager at New Directions Education in Wrexham added ‘This is very exciting for the school, it’s such a beautiful school set in a tranquil location, I have visited the school as part of my role supplying teachers and other staff to the school, I can understand why the BBC  have chosen Ysgol Bro Famau and Llanarmon Yn Iau as the filming location as it’s a magical location, the children are really excited about seeing their school on the television and it’s brings with it amazing publicity for both the school and the village ’
