Welsh Recruiter Launches National Inspirational Teaching Awards

Leading Welsh education recruiter New Directions have launched their annual Inspirational Teaching Awards for 2014. The event, set to take place at the Mecure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff on June 20th 2014 will reward and recognise the hard work of staff from the education sector throughout Wales.

The awards ceremony will honour professionals in ten categories including Primary Head Teacher, Secondary Head Teacher, Specialist Educational Needs (SEN) Head Teacher, Primary Teacher, Secondary Teacher, SEN Teacher, Classroom Assistant, Supply Teacher, Ancillary Staff Member and Supply Classroom Assistant.

Speaking about the launch of the event, Gary Williams, Director of Business Development and Sales for the business said ‘we are delighted to be launching our annual Inspirational Teaching Awards ceremony again. Our teams across Wales consistently hear about the excellent work carried out by staff throughout the education sector. We want to say a big Welsh diolch and thank you to each and every one of them. This glamorous event will recognise the very best of staff from the sector throughout the whole of the country. The judging panel will certainly have a tough job on their hands’.

Nomination deadline for the event is May 9th 2014. The judging panel – made up of former Head Teachers John Evans, Dave Evans and Ed Berry will then meet to discuss the entries before deciding on three finalists for each category.

The winners will be announced at the evening event by Broadcaster and former school teacher Phil Steel. Phil worked as a teacher for over 25 years in Wales

Category sponsors for the event have this week been announced as The Association of Schools and College Leaders (ASCL), The National Association of Heat Teachers (NAHT), David Wright Accountants, Ashford Solicitors, Sabre, Allens Printers and Colorfoto. Further sponsors are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

The evening is expected to attract over 300 guests who will be served a Welsh themed three course meal.
