Speaking about the record number of nominations, Gary Williams of New Directions said ‘we are aware of the quality of staff working within the education sector throughout Wales. We encounter really special individuals on a daily basis. From Teachers to Technicians and Caretakers to Special Needs Coordinators, we see excellence from across the community. What is really delightful for us now is to witness colleagues supporting and highlighting their own co-workers by nominating them for an Inspirational Teacher Award’.

There are 10 categories available for individuals to be nominated in. Deadline for nominations is 9th May 2014 for all categories.

Howard Burge, Regional Sales Manager for New Directions Education commented ‘if you know someone, work with them, your children attend their school or you have simply heard of the good work somebody within the education sector does – I implore you to nominate them. We need to give a big thank you to those people who really go the extra mile. Log on and let us know what makes them so wonderful’.

According to recent government statistics there are currently over 25,000* teachers employed throughout Wales from nursery through to higher education.
