Llanishen High School is One in a Million

Llanishen High School has today become the one millionth customer of supply teaching agency, New Directions Education. The school made a booking for a cover supply teacher last week and hit the one millionth day booked for the agency.

Established in 1999, New Directions Education fast became the largest recruitment and training provider throughout Wales. In 2012 the business was awarded the ‘All Wales Agreement’ for the supply of staff to the education sector.

Speaking about the winning school, Gary Williams, Director of Business Development said ‘How fitting that a school based in Cardiff should be our millionth day booked. We now work throughout the UK, but we are always conscious of our grass roots in Wales. Both the school and the supply teacher will receive an iPad by way of a thank you’.

Llanishen High and the supply teacher will be presented with their iPad at the New Directions Education Inspirational Teaching Awards. The event is being held on Friday, 20th June 2014 at the Mecure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff to celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals from the education sector across Wales.

Speaking about being the millionth customer Claire Wright, Cover Manager for Llanishen High said ‘That is fantastic news. How very exciting. We look forward to receiving the iPad and celebrating with colleagues from across the education sector in June’.

Since New Directions Education opened its doors, they have registered over 27,000 supply staff for the education sector and have worked with over 1,200 schools and colleges across the UK.
