North Clwyd Animal Rescue receives no state funding. They rely very heavily on voluntary donations from the local community. One of New Directions values is community so our Wrexham team were more than happy to donate a cheque of £50 to the shelter.

NCAR also arrange visits to local school to conduct talks can be altered to suit your interest and age groups between 4 – 18 years. They often visit junior and high schools, where they will spend around half an hour in each class discussing the following;

• How to care for your pets
• How to be responsible pet owners
• A bit about who and what do as a charity
• Ways that schools can get involved with our charity
• Interactive games about animal welfare
• Plus much more

Nicky, Education Officer from NCAR will usually take 1 or 2 pets from the shelter to meet the pupils.

Jenna Whittam, Branch Manager and Shelley Nicholls, Account Manager visited the shelter on Tuesday 18th November and they were honoured to be shown around the shelter after making a small contribution. Speaking about the visit, Jenna comments ‘I would implore every school in our region to get involved in helping to educate our young people on pet care. At this time of the year especially, with pest as presents for Christmas. The work the guys at the shelter carry out is amazing’.
