FREE breakfast seminar series for school Business Managers and Bursars

Posted on

A series of breakfast seminars are being hosted throughout Wales to support School Business Managers and Bursars in a drive to manage ever challenging budgets.

Pressure on finance is being felt in all public services as the Welsh Government pass on cuts to its block grant from the UK Government.

School leaders are feeling the impact of these cuts now as budgetary negotiations for 2015/16 are happening in every local authority across Wales.

A typical secondary school with 11-19 year olds will have 1,200 pupils, 75 teaching staff and a budget of £5million per year. This school will go from a balanced budget to a deficit of £1million by 2017/18 on these projections.

These events are part of series of actions that ASCL Cymru is taking to represent and support school leaders at this time.

The seminars take place between 8.00am -10.00am at the following locations:

27 January 2015 St George’s Hotel, Llandudno
28 January 2015 Trinity Saint David, Carmarthen
3 February 2015 Village Hotel, Cardiff
4 February 2015 Hilton Hotel, Coldra, Newport
