Bolton St Catherine’s Academy Staff Celebrate World Book Day 2015

Posted on

Staff at Bolton St Catherine’s Academy pulled out all the stops for World Book Day 2015 to inspire and share their passion for reading with students. Staff from all departments (including the Librarian Ms Guzman who happily assisted students in the Library dressed as Bagpuss) got involved with the day of celebrating all things literary.

Students were clearly excited to see their teachers dressed up and loved trying to guess which character and book each member was dressed as. Mr Duffy aka Harry Potter was very positive with his staff who dressed up. Describing them as a clear inspiration to students, he said the day was aimed at showing a fantastic strategy to improve Literacy throughout the school. Mr Duffy wanted to express his thanks to the English Department to Ms Loyns and Mr Burke who organised and came up with the fantastic idea.

Students at St Catherine’s Academy will not forget today especially Year 11 who didn’t allow a Harry Potter dressed Mr Duffy distract them from their BTEC Sport Mock Exam.

New Directions are excited to see what St Catherine’s Academy will do for Comic Relief.
