‘Temp of the Term’ Julia Evans, at The Innovate Project, Caerphilly

Julia Evans has been awarded as ‘Temp of the Term’ by the Cardiff SEN Team. Her nomination was put forward by Jon Evans, Branch manager for the business in Cardiff.

Julia’s recognition has stemmed from her work for the Innovate Project, which is part of the Caerphilly County Borough Council Youth Service. Their aim is to engage and work with young people in Caerphilly who have been unconnected from formal education training and employment. The young people involved in the project are often at risk of exclusion or have been excluded from mainstream education provision and are aged between 14 and 16. The centre therefore provides the young people involved with the opportunity to gain qualifications they would not otherwise be able to.

Julia who has been working with the project for a year now, has excelled in this very challenging role, helping to support the centre’s work, and tailor-making individual projects to engage the young people’s needs. Our team has received nothing but positive feedback for Julia praising her punctuality, enthusiasm and overall ability in her role.

As well as this, Julia’s efforts have concentrated on fundraising projects in the community, and is currently involved in fundraising for Heol Ddu Comprehensive’s Special Educational Needs department.

Kelly Freeman and Laura Jeffreys, New Directions SEN Account Manager’s presented the award to Julia (pictured).
