Wrexham Primary Athletics Festival

New Directions were the proud sponsors of Wrexham Primary Athletics Festival held at Queesnway Sports Centre on Wednesday 17th June 2015. It was a wonderful event and the rain just about held off for the day. The event was well supported by the local schools in Wrexham and many parents came along to support their children competing.

New Directions were delighted to be a part of the day and supported the event by sponsoring, and giving out the trophies and medals.

Rebecca Hughes, from Ysgol Sant Dunawd who helped to organise the event said: “28 primary schools from the Wrexham county participated in the athletics festival, with schools competing against each other according to their size. The children showed super athletic skills and excellent sporting attitude. There were a number of events including long distance, sprints, long and high jump, throwing and relays. The weather was perfect and the day ran smoothly, thanks to the many volunteers. We hope that this event brings children together and encourages them to take part in sport, whilst having fun!”
