New Directions College Road-show

The time of year is upon us when Jon Evans, Branch Manager for the Cardiff ALN team, embarks on his journey across South Wales, spreading the word of New Directions and the exciting opportunities they can present in the education sector. Over the next three months, Jon will meet with hundreds of newly qualified candidates at their place of study and will introduce them to the agency.

Jon will speak in front of soon to be qualified CACHE Level 2 and Level 3 students, discussing with them the different types of position available to them and how best they can make use of their new highly sought after qualification.  New Directions has won the preferred supplier status under the All Wales Agreement, so is the perfect partner for candidates looking to gain experience in local schools and education centres. Jon and the Learning Support Assistant Department are hugely excited at the prospect of working with newly qualified candidates and offering them the help and support they need to develop their existing skills.

As an education agency, New Directions provides in-house training for its staff, which can be tailored to the candidate, depending on the area of education they are looking to work in. These courses include Team Teach, Manual Handling, Autism Awareness and various Safeguarding courses, to name but a few. The agencies’ in-house training department provide courses to candidates throughout the academic year, in both term time and school holidays.

During his session, Jon will speak with every student on the course as a group, and will then go around the whole class to meet every pupil individually and will then field any questions individually that anyone may have about the agency, schools they work with or the training provided by New Directions. This is also a fantastic opportunity for each prospective candidate to meet the Account Manager for the relevant area, who will accompany Jon on his visit to the college.
