Football Tournament – Tranmere Rovers final

Over the last couple of months we have been reporting on the football tournament, sponsored by New Directions with Tanmere Rovers. The tournament involves around 60 primary schools taking part in the friendly competition across Wirral and Cheshire.

The final took place at Bebington High Schools football ground, with St Johns Junior School, Great Meols Primary, Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary, Brookhurst Primary, Somerville Primary, Greasby Juniors, Our Lady and St Edwards Primary and Birkenhead Prep School.

It was a close match but New Directions are pleased to announce that the winners of this year’s football tournament is Birkenhead Prep School who pipped Somerville Primary to the post.

Senior Recruitment Consultant, Jen Morrison presented the winning team with a trophy and medals to each team member. Jen commented, “It was a very exciting final to watch! All teams deserve to be recognised for good talent and dedication to play in all weathers. well done.”

Sam Pilling, Branch Manager for the Wirral comments, “Very well done to all the schools that have taken part. The standard of play has been very high and great to watch.”
