New Directions supports students with their end of year ‘Prom’

New Directions has a very good working relationship with the Wrexham Pupil Referral (PRU) Service.  On hearing that the pupils were organising their own ‘Prom’ and looking to obtain sponsorship to support the costs, Branch Manager, Jenna Whittam was only too pleased to help.

The School Council has taken charge of the organisation and has decided to arrange an event to remember at the Llindir Hall Hotel in Rossett.  Nothing but the best will do and the ‘red carpet’ will be out to welcome the guests. Jenna  said, “It is  very encouraging to see these young people thriving, not just in school but in life itself.  Lots of them have had a difficult time personally, but are now showing more confidence and are ready for the future.  The PRU does a fantastic job in supporting them to reach their potential.  We wish all students the very best.”

Mainstream students have their end of year ‘Prom’ as a matter of course.  This is the first time the PRU has planned such an event, and this is thanks to the initiative of the Student Council.

Two School Council members who have taken the lead in organising the ‘Prom’ are pictured here  holding the New Directions cheque.  Also pictured here are Kathryn Pearson (Account Manager) and Rob Ratcliffe (Business Development Officer).
