A leading Senior Account Manager with award winning agency New Directions Education has raised £438 for the charity British Heart Foundation.

James Evans who works to provide primary schools across the Newport area with supply staff pulled on his running shoes to run the JCP Swansea Half Marathon on June 26th this year.

Speaking about the marathon and his choice of charity James said ‘The charity is close to my heart (no pun intended). I have people who are very close to me living with heart conditions that may need to call upon the work carried out by this brilliant charity at a future date’.

James, a fitness fanatic, raised the funds from colleagues, family and friends. He thanked them all and continued ‘I felt a real sense of achievement completing the run but really proud that the funds raised are going to make a real contribution to the research conducted by British Heart Foundation. I also felt emotional at the finish line since there are people close to me in my life living with heart conditions and I also wanted to run the race for them.

Kelly Storer, Regional Manager for New Directions Education said of James’ achievement ‘we are all super proud of James. His commitment to this cause and his dedication to his training regime is inspirational for all of us who work with him’.

James plans to run the Cardiff 10k on the 11th September for Kidney Wales and the Swansea Bay 10k 18th September for Dementia UK.
