New Directions Wrexham have worked to support Babanod Y Foryd with fund raising efforts for their creative pursuits.

Sarah Baker, Account Manager for the award winning North Wales supply teaching agency has been working closely with the school and their ‘Creative Collaborations Project’. The school have been engaged in – environmental arts, kite making, drum making, writing, story telling, magic light theatre group participation, dancing, animation with clay, music and singing with the Welsh National Opera with a number of professional artists and associated art groups and projects.

After receiving an initial grant from Arts Council partners Venue Cymra, Sarah added to the pot to ensure the school had as much funding as possible to enable a wonderful initiative for Babanod Y Foryd pupils.

Sarah, a New Directions Account Manager and part of the North Wales education community for a number of years presented the school with a cheque for £100. Speaking about the donation, Bethan Jones, Headteacher for the school said ‘This is an amazing opportunity for all of our children, and Venue Cymra have also put on a 70 seater coach for our pupils and parents to go and join in some pertinent art activities in Llandudno. Thank you also to New Directions for their support with this important initiative’.

Sarah Baker and Neil Roberts (Former Head and New Directions Business Development Officer) added ‘we are delighted to support such a creative project. We recognise the importance the arts plays in the education of young people. We hope the pupils thoroughly enjoy this experience’.
