Pontllanfraith Playground Project

Posted on

On Wednesday 15th February, New Directions Account Manager, Gemma Hill and Business Development Manager, Peter Cornelious visited Pontllanfraith Primary School to donate £300 towards their new playground equipment.

The children at Pontllanfraith Primary School have previously been using an old yard which was small, in poor condition and lacked security. They have recently moved the yard where the car park used to be at the front of the school and have been raising money to bring the new yard up to scratch.

Angela Taylor, Headteacher at Pontllanfraith Primary School told us, “We’ve been successful in getting match funding from the LA to replace our rusty railings which has taken most of this year’s budget. We are appealing to everyone we can think of to help.”

The Police and Crime Commissioner has donated a buddy bench and a local company have donated a basketball hoop. The school’s fantastic PTA have sought further donations from small businesses and combined this with the money they raised at school events.

We wish Pontllanfraith every success in their playground project and look forward to seeing it once it’s complete. Thank you to all the staff and pupils that made us feel so welcome.
