Taking Time Out to Support Lunch Time Supervisors

Posted on

On 25th October 2017 one of our New Directions Account Managers took time out of her day to support a fantastic bunch of Lunch Time Supervisors.

Jen George, former Teacher has spent five years working as part of the New Directions team. She said of her visit to Cardiff-based Kitchener Road Primary School ‘Nick Wilson – Deputy Head for the school invited me in to deliver the training. Nick wanted a fresh face to deliver the refresher session. I met the new Assistant Head John Smith who will line manage the lunch time team, and he sat in on the session. John has an aim to focus on wellbeing for children during their midday break and I was delighted to welcome him to the session’.

Jen met Lunchtime Supervisors who had been at the school for a number of years and three new staff, she continues ‘the short session was really to talk to them about teamwork. The guys are super professional at what they do – they just wanted a re-visit of some basic theory. It really was a pleasure to share discussion about their roles and responsibilities’.

This session comes a week before half-term in Wales where our team will be facilitating a host of free training for our supply staff across the country. Kelly Storer, Regional Manager for the business comments ‘we are unwavering in our support and re-investment within our schools’ communities. We recognise our responsibilities to give back to those we work with. Jen is typical of our Account Management teams in finding new and innovative ways to provide extra help where we can’.
