Well-being with Ryan Jones

Following the success of our Well-being Roadshow for pupils with rugby legend Ryan Jones, we’re delighted to host this session for all education professionals where Ryan will talk to you about your well-being and how important it is to look after yourself.

Mindfulness with Clare McRobbie

After exploring your well-being, professional mindfulness trainer Clare McRobbie will then take you through mindfulness techniques to help reduce stress, anxiety and depression.

What is mindfulness?

This session will allow you to:

– Understand the evidence-based research on Mindfulness and neuroscience and ways that it can help to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression and improve wellbeing.

– Explore the impact of stress (especially during a pandemic) and ways to challenge negative thought patterns using Mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioural techniques to learn how to respond skilfully to emotions as well as developing empathy and compassion skills.

– To learn Mindfulness meditations practices to cultivate an ethos of gratitude and compassion for self and others

About the speaker

Ryan achieved 75 international caps for Wales and three test caps for the British & Irish Lions. His playing career began at Newport in 1998 and ended at Bristol in 2015. Ryan is one of only seven Welsh players to have won three Grand Slam titles, and he is the second most-capped captain for Wales.

Clare is a freelance Mindfulness and Wellbeing trainer with several years of teaching experience delivering 8 – week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy courses and the 8-week foundation mindfulness courses for staff in schools as well as 1-2-1 Mindfulness and Wellbeing coaching sessions and group workshops for workplace wellbeing.
