New Directions Education are currently recruiting Academic Student Support Workers to work in primary schools across Chester. This role is ideal for individuals with experience working with children or within a care or support role who are passionate about helping pupils to succeed academically and emotionally.
The Role:
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups across the primary curriculum
• Providing academic and pastoral support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning
• Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND and SEMH
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
• Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours
• Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Experience working with children or young people, or within a care/support role
• A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine interest in education and student wellbeing
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for pupils
• A full UK driving licence (desirable)
