An inclusive and welcoming primary school based in St Helens is seeking to appoint a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This vacancy has become available as the school continues to strengthen its commitment to high-quality learning and pupil development across all year groups.
You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional progress. The role will involve working across the classroom with individuals, small intervention groups, and occasionally supporting whole-class activities to help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
• Support pupils across the curriculum, including children with SEND and additional learning needs
• Assist in maintaining a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Deliver focused literacy and phonics support sessions in line with school strategies
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt learning activities for different abilities
• Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and participation in lessons
• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Has a patient, proactive, and caring approach to supporting children
• Demonstrates a passion for helping pupils achieve their full potential
• Is confident supporting early reading, phonics, and core learning interventions
• Can contribute effectively to lesson preparation and classroom organisation
