New Directions is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a pupil with additional learning needs based in a school in Kirkby. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in positively impacting a child’s learning experience and overall development.
Working closely with class teachers, SEND professionals, and parents, you will help the pupil overcome challenges, build confidence, and thrive within a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Your one-to-one guidance will be essential in helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Job Specification
Have experience working with children, or adults, with additional needs
Able to support children of all abilities.
Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning.
Whilst previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, candidates who possess the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.
Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safegaurding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.
Experience of working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other specific learning needs.

Be able to build strong relationships with students and staff.
Be encouraging and supportive
Ensure the safety and well-being of the students
Support students with a range of SEND needs (including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, physical disabilities, and emotional needs) in their lessons, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities.
