About the Role:

As Acting Deputy Head Teacher, you will play a key role in promoting excellence in teaching and learning, fostering positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families, and driving school improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate and embody the Professional Standards for teaching and leadership in Wales.
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for learning and behaviour.
  • Lead innovative initiatives aligned with curriculum reform and national priorities.
  • Have a proven track record of raising attainment and driving positive outcomes.
  • Actively promote the welfare, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all learners.
  • Support the role of ALNCO and meet the needs of learners requiring additional support.
  • Collaborate effectively with staff, governors, parents, and the wider community.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess pupils’ work tailored to individual needs.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales to create engaging learning environments.
  • Foster enthusiasm, motivation, and challenge for pupils across all abilities.
  • Promote Welsh as a second language throughout the school.
  • Uphold high standards of health, safety, and equality of opportunity.
