New directions are working with a fantastic Additional Learning Needs ALN school based in The Vale of Glamorgan who are looking for a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to aid the academic development of pupils on a rolling 1:1 basis.
The role is to support and educate young people aged 3-19 with complex needs to ensure they are reaching their maximum potential. The school places a precedence on ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment is in place, and the successful candidate will show a passion for enforcing this. Within the role you will be required to:
Familiarize yourself with Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s) and work alongside the class teacher to ensure desired outcomes.
Become a support for a pupil in every way to ensure a comfortable school environment.
Provide support for learning activities.
Promote independent learning.
Perform regulated activities eg. medication, changing, feeding, where required with those aged 3-19.

To work in an Additional Learning Needs (ALN) role you will need:
Ideally experience working in an ALN environment
Recent experience in a classroom environment
An excellent track record
Good knowledge of the national curriculum
Flexibility and adaptability to work short-term and long-term.
