New Directions Education are currently looking to register a supply teacher for an ALN school in Llanelli to specifically work with Children who have complex disabilities.

We are able to work to your requirements on the amount of days you wish to work and are also able to offer half day bookings which could either be morning or afternoon sessions. Supply positions will be on offer once your file has become compliant and we will be able to offer work for as long as you wish.

We welcome applicants who:

  • Have gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC);
  • Are able to teach all age groups with the Foundation Phase and utilise the outdoor classroom effectively;
  • Are available at short notice for last minute sickness cover requirements;
  • Seek the flexibility of supply work and are suited towards the temporary nature of placements.

Job Specification

Your role as an ALN Teacher in the age group of your speciality will be varied and at times challenging. But we doubt you’ll find a more satisfying career where your main objectives will be to develop the children and prepare them for the next stage.

As an ALN School Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum 
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
