Job Description

New Directions Education are working with local Additional Learning Needs schools and specialised units in Blaenau Gwent are and are recruiting experienced qualified teachers and NQT’s to cover their supply needs. We require teachers that are able to cover long term or day-to-day cover.

We work with schools who cater to a range of needs so experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties
  • Severe Learning Difficulites
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Dyslexia and/or Dyspraxia
  • Hearing impaired
  • Visually impaired
  • Speech and language delay

New Directions also care about our candidates, their needs and their learning and development to become successful in their career. We offer over 50 online course which can be completed in your own time, in the comfort of your own home in addition to the on-site training such as PRICE, British Sign Language and First Aid. On-site training will be in our brand new, state of the art building in Llanishen and training provided by well recognized professionals plus WE provide lunch for you on the day.

Job Specification

A large number of our jobs are within the ALN sector. We fill many vacancies in schools with candidates who have the right experience and qualifications.

To work in an Additional Learning Needs (ALN) role you will need:

  • Ideally experience working in an ALN environment or from a care background
  • An excellent track record
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work short-term and long-term.

We are always looking for candidates who have particular experience in working with children classified as having:

  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Dyslexia
  • Dyspraxia
  • Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Profound and Moderate Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Physical Disabilities (PD).
