Job Description

New Directions Education are currently registering a supply pool of Arabic Teachers for a primary school within Swansea. Teachers would need to act as an interpreter/translator for school-based meetings, school communications and providing bilingual support to learners. Whilst the nature of placements is on a supply basis, the school may be able to offer regular work so that pupils have continuity. Successful applicants will be teaching pupils throughout the primary age range.

We welcome applicants who:

  • Have gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are registered with the education Workforce Council (EWC);
  • Are either Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT’s) or experienced classroom practitioners;
  • Seek the flexibility of supply work and will be available for short- and longer-term cover;
  • Are able to speak English and Arabic fluently;
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and write in English and Arabic.

New Directions seek applicants who would be adaptable for each year group and be able to differentiate accordingly at short notice. You will be able to observe and utilise a range of behaviour management strategies and develop your own techniques to suit your teaching approach. Whilst the main focus for the school is currently short-term requirements, they may also be looking for longer term cover and this is a great way for you to be considered for the long term/permanent positions. Job Specification

We recruit Primary Teachers for jobs in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) Primary Teacher job roles.

As a Primary School Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
