New Directions Education are currently recruiting a Dari Teaching Assistant to support pupils in the Carmarthenshire area.
The role is Act as an interpreter/translator for school based meetings and school communications and providing bilingual support to learners.
The schools are looking for a friendly and confident Teacher Assistants, therefore qualification or equivalent in Childcare would be beneficial. Candidates with relevant childcare experience are also welcome to apply. We are looking for staff who:
Are able to support all age groups within the Foundation Phase, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4.
Are able to support small groups and pupils on a one to one basis as and when required;
Are able to work closely with the teaching staff and other teaching assistants within the classroom;
Are able to provide 3 up-to-date references;
Seek the flexibility of supply work and are suited towards the temporary nature of placements.
Demonstrates ability to speak Dari fluently
Demonstrates ability to read and write Dari
Demonstrates ability to speak English fluently
Demonstrates ability to read and write English well
Ability to act as a good link between parents and teachers
Ability to drive and must hold a current driving licence.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
