New Directions are currently recruiting for a Learning support Assistant to work with a pupil on a one to one basis in a local school in the Newport area. The pupil’s first language is Bulgarian, therefore they will require additional support with the English Language.
You will be required to support the class teacher deliver the curriculum to this child by providing translation in order to ease the complexity of English not being the Childs first language.
As you are working on a one to one basis with the pupil in question, you will be required to build a rapport, engage with them fully and keep them on track with their work.
We are looking for someone to work on a full time basis. The working pattern will comprise of working Monday Friday and the hours required will be 8.30am – 3.30pm.
English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teaching Assistants work within a classroom setting either on a 1-2-1 basis or with a small group of children.
The aim of the role is to promote inclusion and provide support for students who have English as a second language. EAL Teaching Assistants may also be needed to adapt and customise curriculum materials.
