New Directions Education are looking to recruit a talented and inspiring teacher of English to teach across secondary schools in Wrexham.

We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate an enthusiasm for English and a commitment to using excellent teaching and learning practices to motivate, engage and challenge pupils of all abilities and backgrounds.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner who embraces innovation and creativity
  • Can motivate and inspire their students to reach their full potential
  • Can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work successfully within a large team

Job specification

New Directions Education places great emphasis on recruiting and supplying newly qualified (NQT) or experienced English teachers of a very high quality for supply vacancies across the UK.

Whether your speciality is language, literature or both we recruit a variety of roles in English Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).

As an English teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
