New Directions Education is currently recruiting for an English Teacher to work at a Secondary School in the Caerphilly area. This is a full time position, with a September start. There is also a strong possibility of the position extending to a permanent contract. This role would also be an excellent opportunity for both Newly Qualified Teacher’s (NQT’s) as well as more experienced teachers.
You will have the ability to teach the language with patience and tact, and to create a supportive learning environment which will help your students meet their learning goals. Through interesting and diverse methods, you’ll teach them the important rules of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading, writing, and speaking in English. The right candidate will also provide a creative and exciting learning environment whereby pupils are motivated and encouraged to show ambition, to maximise their potential, and to embrace all aspects of school life in order to develop a wide-ranging skill set.

In possession of a clear DBS with the update service and registered with the EWC

As an English Teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
