New Directions Education is looking for a qualified English teacher to work in a large high achieving Secondary School in The Wirral.

You will need to implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and appropriately differentiated curriculum for all the students across key stages 3 and 4 (KS3 & KS4). This school truly cares about the achievements and wellbeing of their students, so you will need to have this same passion in your teaching.

Each student’s progress is regularly monitored to support their overall progress and development; these records need to be accurate and kept up to date electronically. This information is then available for you, to help you when planning and preparing lessons throughout the year.  This will help you to facilitate and encourage a learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential!

Job Specification

New Directions Education places great emphasis on recruiting and supplying newly qualified (NQT) or experienced English Teachers of a very high quality for supply vacancies across the UK.

Whether your speciality is language, literature or both we recruit a variety of roles in English Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).

As an English Teacher you’ll be expected to:

• Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
• Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
• Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
• Maintain discipline
• Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
• Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
• Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
• Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
• Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
