Job Description

New Directions Education are currently registering Final Year Students in preparation for NQT positions in September. We are looking for teachers who have specialised within the Foundation Phase in order to cover classes ranging from Nursery through to Year 2. We will be able to offer you work in a variety of schools to build up your experience or you can select the schools you wish to work in to tailor your skills. Each supply placement you complete will count towards your Induction Year and you will be able to organise lesson observations with your NQT Mentor. You will also be assigned an experienced New Directions NQT mentor who would be able support you through your Induction Year.

We welcome applicants who:

  • Are currently undertaking a Teacher Training qualification either in Degree form or as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE);
  • Are currently registering with the Education Workforce Council (EWC);
  • Are able to teach all age groups with the Foundation Phase and utilise the outdoor classroom effectively;
  • Can confidently liaise with staff, pupils and parents;
  • Seek the flexibility of supply work and are suited towards the temporary nature of placements.

New Directions seek applicants who would like the flexibility of supply work and who would be available at times at short notice to fulfil last minute sickness absences. Undertaking day to day supply placements will build up your professional relationships within schools and this may lead to longer term bookings if this is of something of interest to you. During your registration appointment with New Directions you will be able to state if there are any schools in particular you would like us to target for specific work. We are also able to offer free training courses to support your career development.
