Foundation Phase Teaching Assistant, Carmarthenshire

New Directions Education are currently looking to recruit LSA’S for supply work in the Carmarthen and surrounding areas. We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic teaching assistant with a flexible attitude to support the inclusion of students with a range of behavioural and learning needs. Experience of working in literacy, numeracy and social intervention programmes would be advantageous. The successful candidate will:
Have a knowledge of how to support children’s learning, especially in phonics, reading, Mathematics and language skills.
Have previous experience of working in a primary school classroom.
Have good verbal and written communication skills.
Be enthusiastic and positive.
Have the ability to support children both emotionally and behaviourally.
Have the ability to support children’s speaking and listening skills.
Have a willingness to develop new skills.
Have the ability to work well in a team.
Have the ability to develop positive relationships with colleagues, parents and children.
An EYFS Teacher works in day nurseries and also nursery or reception classes in infant or primary schools.

As an EYFS teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the Early Years Statutory Framework
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a safe and positive teaching environment
Plan and prepare activities that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation;
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly in smaller schools and day-nurseries.
