Job Description

New Directions Education are recruiting for a Governor Clerk on behalf of a local Denbighshire school. The position is due to start in February 2019.

The Clerk to Governor’s role is central to the smooth running of the Governing Body: preparing agendas, minute taking, keeping accurate records and providing procedural and legislative advice. Clerks must have excellent organisation, communication and ICT skills as well as an ability to work on their own initiative.

It is essential that all applicants have an excellent knowledge of the School Information Management System (SIMS) and some knowledge of the Financial Management System (FMS) would also be beneficial.

The client is seeking a candidate who is hardworking, adaptable, and confident working in a high-pressure environment overseeing all day to day duties in the busy school office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Logging attendance and lateness on SIMS
  • Collating school dinner money on SIMS
  • Updating student and staff records on SIMS
  • Paying invoices and banking cash
  • Answering the phone and passing on messages
  • Being the first point of contact for staff, parents and pupils

Please note, all applicants must hold a Child-Only Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to pay for a new DBS.
