Job Description

Are you an experienced Administrator looking for a new challenge?

New Directions are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Administrator to join the HR team in supporting the Higher activities of the group for a Powys based School.

Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • To coordinate, develop and manage systems and processes to support the Higher Education activities of the Group;
  • To liaise with the Higher Education Coordinators and Higher Education Leads to ensure all processes and procedures related to Higher Education are conducted in a timely manner and comply with Institutional/Partner deadlines;
  • To work with Higher Education Support and Systems Administrator and Management Information Systems to maintain and develop Higher Education quality and administration systems for data management;
  • To manage data collection and to design and develop reports in relation to Higher Education (i.e. National Student Survey);
  • To understand the importance of data quality and proactively take steps to maintain and improve this;
  • To work with both internal and external partners to support events (i.e. Open Evenings, marketing activities, etc);
  • To support the administration and management of programme validations, annual monitoring, external assessments, external courses and partner approvals/reviews; 
  • To provide administrative support to the Schools in relation to Higher Education activity.

We recruit a wide variety of School Office Staff roles, including school secretaries, receptionists, administrators, and school clerks.

Duties are varied and may include the following:

  • Receptionist duties such as answering the phone and welcoming visitors
  • Administrative duties such as typing letters, sorting post, managing emails
  • Dealing with school meals administration, ordering stationery, paying invoices, handling monies, printing and photocopying and managing schools systems like SIMS

School Office Staff must be well organised as well as having excellent verbal and written communication skills. They must also be able to work well under pressure and be able to prioritise tasks.

Candidates will ideally have previous experience working within a school office. Working knowledge of SIMS system is advantageous.

Schools will expect all school support staff to have a good standard of education, some previous office work experience and ideally previous experience working within an educational setting.
