New Directions Education are looking to appoint an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a large primary school based on the Wirral. Experience across Key Stage 2 year groups is essential along with the ability to classroom manage pro-actively and effectively.
Our school is looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic, reliable and has the ability to adapt to working across Key Stage Two classes in providing a strong level of support and learning.
This position is on an on going supply basis starting in June 2021 for 3 days a week, Wednesday to Friday. You will require a level 4 (or above) Teaching Assistant Qualification and a minimum of 6 months recent experience working within a primary school. This is also a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified teacher (NQT) who is looking to network in local schools and increase their experience.
The HLTA role adds further support to those teaching in a classroom environment. The post is more senior than a Teaching Assistant, and comes with added responsibilities.
A HLTA may be required to teach classes on their own at times, or cover planned absences to allow teaching staff to plan and mark.
To become a HLTA you must have experience as a teaching assistant. You will also need the support of your school and senior staff.
