New Directions are currently looking to recruit Higher Level Teaching Assistant’s in the Powys area, ready for when schools re-open. As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to lead individual, group or whole class learning and support the class teacher. This is a fantastic and dynamic role; we are looking for adaptable and reliable candidates who are looking for a new opportunity. Working in a variety of schools enables you to build positive working relationships with local schools and showcase your skills. We help schools with both day to day supply and longer-term cover, and your dedicated account manager will actively seek placements in schools you would like to work in.

The HLTA role adds further support to those teaching in a classroom environment. The post is more senior than a Teaching Assistant, and comes with added responsibilities.
A HLTA may be required to teach classes on their own at times, or cover planned absences to allow teaching staff to plan and mark.
To become a HLTA you must have experience as a teaching assistant. You will also need the support of your school and senior staff.
