A large Catholic school in the heart of Newport are looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support their year 4 class.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate an understanding of education based on Catholic values. To be successful you will have excellent subject knowledge, a track record of securing good practice in teaching and learning and an understanding of the significance of Religious Education in the wider Catholic life of the school.
To be successful in your application you must have attained certified HLTA status and be able to demonstrate experience of working as a HLTA in the classroom.
This is a hugely varied role and your duties may include taking the class, working with small groups and working with children on an individual basis.

The HLTA role adds further support to those teaching in a classroom environment. The post is more senior than a Teaching Assistant, and comes with added responsibilities.
A HLTA may be required to teach classes on their own at times, or cover planned absences to allow teaching staff to plan and mark.
To become a HLTA you must have experience as a teaching assistant. You will also need the support of your school and senior staff.
